What is the My Freedom Card?

The My Freedom Card is a physical card for general purpose, government disbursement, and corporate disbursement. It will be issued as Reloadable Prepaid cards that are eligible to have additional funds loaded to the card after the initial Funding Load.


How do I get the My Freedom card?

Cardholders may visit any BOSL bank branch to obtain a BOSL Visa prepaid card. The purchaser must be a citizen or legal resident of Saint Lucia and must be 18 years or older. The purchaser must present a government-issued valid form of identification for verification of identity and age, and proof of residency. BOSL and non-BOSL customers are eligible to apply once the above criteria are met.


How do I load money onto My Freedom Card?

Loading Prepaid card is the process of topping up or adding funds or money to the card so it can be used for various purposes such as making purchases, paying bills, withdrawing cash, or accessing specific services. Funds will be loaded onto the cards via ATM, Online via MobilEarth (ME), and via batch processing for government payments.

Where can I use My Freedom card?

My Freedom Card will be accepted anywhere Visa cards are accepted worldwide, including online, in stores, and at ATMs.


What is the difference between a prepaid debit card and a regular debit card?

A prepaid debit card is not linked to a savings or checking account and must be preloaded with funds. A regular debit card is linked directly to a savings or checking account, and funds are deducted directly from the account balance.


Can I use My Freedom card to pay bills?

Yes, My Freedom card can be used to pay bills online, or in person, similar to a regular debit or credit card.


Is My Freedom Card safe to use?

BOSL will continue to use the follow tools to safeguard customers.

  1. Transaction Monitoring. Manual and automated monitoring systems are used to detect and prevent fraudulent transactions. These systems analyze patterns, transaction history, and geographic data to identify suspicious activities.
  2. Fraud detection and Prevention. The Bank, through its processor, has advanced fraud detection mechanisms in place to help identify and block potentially fraudulent transactions.
  3. Reporting and Dispute Resolution. The Bank has procedures in place to allow cardholders to report unauthorized transactions and dispute any fraudulent charges. Cardholder are encouraged to report any suspicious activity promptly to ensure timely resolution.

What happens if I lose my My Freedom card?

The Bank offers the option to block a card temporarily in case of suspected fraud or loss, and also the facility to replace lost, stolen cards, or where suspicious activity has been identified, with a new one. In the case of a lost or stolen card, cardholder should contact the bank via email: cardservices@bankofsaintlucia, BOSLDigital@bankofsaintlucia.com: Telephone: 4566999 or visit any of our branches.


Does My Freedom Card have an expiration date?

Yes, the card will expire every four years.
