Gros Islet, Saint Lucia | March 24th, 2026 - Today, the Vigie Sports Complex transformed into a hub of innovation as the National Schools Science and Technology Fair 2026, sponsored by Bank of Saint Lucia, officially kicks off.
Running until March 26th, this year’s fair highlights the creative potential of our youth under the theme: "Igniting Young Minds to Power the Future." Primary and secondary school students from across the island are going head to head, demonstrating their skills in a series of highly anticipated exhibitions.
Today’s spectators expressed a sequence of "aha!" moments at the display which dived into technology, food science and environmental sustainability. The students showcased handmade machinery, delicious food samples and elaborate science projects providing solutions for a cleaner, greener Saint Lucia.
"Year after year, we are impressed with the practical solutions students come up with. It is a reminder of how much our young people can achieve when given the right opportunities," says Ms. Genevieve Downes, Senior Manager - Marketing and Corporate Communications at Bank of Saint Lucia. "Seeing students apply originality to science and technology gives us great confidence in the next generation of Saint Lucian visionaries.
