Introduction of Credit Bureau – EveryData ECCU Limited

The Bank of Saint Lucia hereby notifies all customers that the Bank has commenced the use of a licensed Credit Bureau, EveryData ECCU Limited, a company incorporated under the Companies Act of Saint Lucia and licensed by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank for the purpose of conducting credit assessments.

The Credit Bureau will be implemented across Saint Lucia and the wider Eastern Caribbean.

This initiative supports our commitment to responsible lending practices and aligns with the provisions of the Credit Reporting Act, 2023, specifically Section 18, Subsection (2) and (3) which authorizes:

• The retrieval of credit information from the Credit Bureau for the purpose of assessing a customer’s creditworthiness; and
• The sharing of relevant customer credit information with EveryData ECCU Limited, as permitted by law.

The use of the credit information is intended to improve the fairness, transparency and effectiveness of our lending process, while also ensuring that all credit information is handled securely and confidentially, in full compliance with the provisions of the Credit Reporting Act and all other applicable laws.

We encourage all customers to continue practicing good credit management as your borrowing and repayment habits will help shape your credit profile.
